Banking at Mason

Mason has partnered with Capital One Bank® to provide banking services for the Mason Community. The Fairfax Campus has a branch located in the Johnson Center. The Prince William and Arlington Campuses have convenient ATM machines.

Check Cashing:
• At the Mason branch, Capital One Bank® will cash personal one-party US checks drawn on banks based in the Continental US in the amount of $100 or less, at no charge, for the University community. Transactions may be limited to no more than $150 per week for all non-customers.
• Capital One Bank will cash checks issued by US Government, Commonwealth of Virginia, and George Mason University in the amount of $1,500 or less, at no charge. Foreign Checks are accepted for collection for those customers who have relationships with Capital One Bank.

Cashier’s Checks:
• Offered and provide alternatives to purchasing money orders or certified checks (which are not offered at Capital One Bank).

Notary Services:
• Provided free of charge.
